Princess for A Day

Making costumes - it's always playtime for me. There is nothing serious about them, it's all fun... no color too bold, no style too risque, no idea too 'out there' because it all falls under the category of make believe.  It's a moment when I can help transform someone into a character, an escape from the normal of every day life.  A chance to play dress up no matter the age.

I just finished up a Snow White costume requested by a teen who needed it to play a princess at the dance studio in town.The parents sent love notes to the young dancers and they got to pick which princess would read their note to them. The princesses were also available for pictures. I was thrilled to play a part in her transformation, and what a transformation it was.
I can get a good idea of what a costume will look like on my dress form but nothing compares to seeing the costume being worn by the one it was intended for.

Getting ready to attach the cape. After a few failed tries at keeping the
cape in place, I decided to use velcro.  I love velcro, it doesn't work in all
situations but for costumes - it works 99% of the time

With the velcro attached, the cape stayed right where I wanted
it to. Collar held in with velcro too!

Thank you for asking to me to help you play the role of Snow White on a Saturday afternoon in a small town for a few tiny dancers.  I know if my kids were young and had met you as Snow White there's no doubt it would have been an unforgettable moment!  You were every bit Snow White!
